When we started testing KOORUI monitors, it quickly became apparent that their direct pipeline to HKC Group's manufacturing allows them to aggressively undercut the market. With the KOORUI G2721P, they aren't just undercutting the competition—they are completely rewriting the rules for budget 1440p gaming.

If you want a bright, clear, high-refresh-rate display but refuse to spend premium brand money, the G2721P makes a compelling case. Here is how it held up on our test bench.

Design and Ergonomics: Focused on the Panel, Not the Plastic

To hit a sub-$200 price point for a monitor with these specifications, compromises have to be made, and KOORUI made the right ones: they saved money on the exterior.

The stand and chassis materials feel very light, though they remain surprisingly durable. The trade-off here is strictly in the ergonomics. The included stand is as basic as it gets—it offers very little tilt and absolutely zero height (up/down) excursion. Additionally, there are no built-in speakers.

However, because it includes standard VESA mounting capabilities, this panel is a prime candidate for a aftermarket monitor arm. By stripping away luxury chassis features and extra hardware, KOORUI was able to put every dollar where you want it: into the panel itself.

Display Quality: WQHD Fast IPS Excellence

The moment you turn on the G2721P, the compromises in the stand are immediately forgiven. The upgraded Fast IPS panel delivers a stunningly bright and clear display with the exceptionally wide viewing angles you expect from quality IPS technology.

At 27 inches, the WQHD (2560x1440) resolution is the undisputed sweet spot for modern PC gaming, providing incredibly crisp pixel density without requiring a massive, RTX 4090-tier GPU to drive high frame rates. We put our review unit through rigorous testing and were thrilled to find zero dead pixels out of the box—a testament to the high quality control standard KOORUI is maintaining despite the budget pricing.

While the monitor boasts an HDR400 certification, expectations should be managed. At this price tier, HDR lacks the local dimming zones needed for true cinematic, deep-black contrast. However, the panel's high peak brightness ensures that SDR games, movies, and daily productivity tasks look phenomenal.

Color Gamut and Accuracy: Calibration Results

To see how the G2721P performs under objective analysis, we ran the panel through our Datacolor Spyder 5 Elite calibration suite. The results were highly impressive for a budget-tier monitor, confirming the screen punches far above its weight class in color performance.

First, the color gamut coverage of the display is excellent:

  • sRGB: 97% coverage — ensuring standard web content and gameplay colors are fully saturated and vibrant.
  • AdobeRGB: 80% coverage — a solid rating for casual photo editing.
  • DCI-P3: 83% coverage — providing great depth for movies and modern HDR-supported games.

For color accuracy, we tested the panel across standard color patches. The monitor achieved:

  • Minimum Delta E: 0.54 (virtually perfect, indistinguishable color deviation to the human eye).
  • Maximum Delta E: 3.09 (observed in the deep blue patch, which is standard for budget Fast IPS panels).
  • Average Delta E: 1.63.

An average Delta E of 1.63 is an outstanding result. Generally, any display with an average Delta E below 2.0 is considered color-accurate enough for professional design and content creation. This means the KOORUI G2721P isn't just a gaming monitor; it can easily pull double duty as a reliable productivity screen for content creators.

Gaming Performance: Fluid and Responsive

Paired with the 1440p resolution, the G2721P pushes a blistering 200Hz refresh rate. This combination is the holy grail for the average PC gamer. The Fast IPS technology handles motion exceptionally well, significantly reducing ghosting and smearing during high-speed camera pans in competitive shooters or fast-paced action RPGs. It feels incredibly smooth and responsive from the moment you drop into a match.

Who is KOORUI, and Are They Actually a Good Brand?

If you are browsing for a gaming monitor and see specs this high for a price this low, your first instinct is probably to assume KOORUI is just another fly-by-night white-label brand. However, their background is actually deeply rooted in display manufacturing.

KOORUI was officially launched in May 2021 as a direct, consumer-facing subsidiary of the HKC Group. If you haven't heard of HKC, they are one of the top three global manufacturers of LCD panels. By operating under the umbrella of this massive tech giant, KOORUI has a direct pipeline to high-end display components and factory supply chains. They don't have to buy panels from a middleman with a massive markup—they are built right at the source.

So, are KOORUI monitors actually good? The short answer is yes, but with a few specific trade-offs.

Because they are using HKC's high-quality panels, the actual screens on KOORUI monitors are fantastic. You get vibrant colors, crisp resolutions, and blazing-fast refresh rates that consistently rival monitors from premium brands that cost twice as much. From a pure visual performance standpoint, they are incredibly reliable.

The catch is how they achieve that aggressive pricing. To keep costs down, KOORUI strips away the luxury features that don't affect your in-game frame rates. That means you are dealing with cheaper plastic chassis, basic rigid stands with poor ergonomics, missing quality-of-life features like USB hubs or high-end speakers, and a customer support ecosystem that is still growing.

Ultimately, if you are a gamer on a budget who cares strictly about raw visual performance and speed, KOORUI is an excellent choice. You are paying purely for the panel, making them one of the absolute best value-per-dollar brands on the market right now.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Unbeatable Value: 1440p 200Hz Fast IPS for under $200 is an incredible value.
  • Pristine Visuals: 95% DCI-P3 color gamut provides exceptionally vivid, accurate colors.
  • Flawless Quality Control: Arrived with zero dead pixels.
  • VESA Compatible: Easy to mount to any standard monitor arm.

Cons

  • Rigid Ergonomics: Basic stand with only slight tilt adjustment.
  • Budget Chassis: Light, plastic frame feels less premium.
  • Basic HDR: Lacks local dimming zones for deep-contrast HDR.
  • No Built-in Audio: Requires headphones or external speakers.

The Verdict: Price, Price, Price

Ultimately, the absolute best feature of the KOORUI G2721P is its price tag. It typically retails for an already impressive $199, but it can frequently be purchased on sale for an unbelievable $159.

At that price point, finding a 27-inch, 1440p, 200Hz Fast IPS monitor with a genuinely high-quality panel and no dead pixels is practically unheard of. If you are willing to overlook a rigid stand and the lack of built-in speakers, the G2721P is an absolute steal and a remarkably solid monitor for this category.
