The market for a more “immersive” gaming experience is the trend these days, and Samsung is expecting to take the reins with its all new offering:  the S27E510CS monitor.

Review of Samsung S27E510CS – The Design

The design is congruent with Samsung’s design language. Samsung notes that the 4000R curved screen is similar to that of reading a newspaper, mimicking a more natural way of viewing compared to ordinary flat panel screens. With a 27” panel the curve surely gives a feeling that the viewer is immersed in the content. The monitor has bezel edges throughout the screen and a striking high gloss black finish. Supporting the monitor is what Samsung calls a “T-Shirt” base which beautifully coincides with the curvature of the screen panel.

Picture Quality

Undoubtedly, the best feature of this display is its superior image quality. The S27E510CS comes with a 16.7 million color screen with a class-leading 3000:1 contrast ratio coveted by most gamers. This gamer monitor also has a Vertical Alignment or VA panel which has better blacks as well as higher contrast ratios compared to TN (Twisted Nematic) and IPS (In-Plane Switching) panels. Video playback and gaming is buttery-smooth in this monitor with its 4ms response time and 60 Hz refresh rate.
