The Acer KG241Q is the company’s 23.6″ size modern rendition of a 1080p gaming monitor with extended refresh rates and excellent functionality all for a low price. Acer’s offerings from the low end up to the premium models are popular with the gaming communities, and we can’t see why this model couldn’t find a slot. The Acer KG241Q offers features which were previously found with products that cost 200 or more, and we want to know if this cheaper model has what it takes.

Design and Features

The 23.6″ Acer kg241q adopts a newer exterior design which pushes it past other budget offerings in the looks department. The face has acceptably thin bezels all over. The bulge is within reasonable depth or thickness, but it can hinder flush mounting on a wall for a neater look. There is also a pair of speakers included for the price, but like the rest of the other built-ins, they sound weak and unclear.

The display module in this model is somehow faithful to the 1ms claim since we did not notice any ghosting or interlacing. We can safely say that this is easily one of the best sub $150 implementations out there regarding performance. We did not get to measure the Acer KG241Q’s input lag, but by our experience, we know it sits well below 10ms. 60Hz 1080p models nowadays have low timings, so that isn’t something you should worry about here.

Thoughts

Overall, the Acer KG241Q is well worth the money it asks for ownership. Even in 2024, it’s price is competitive and specs are formidable. For less than $150, you get a decent 75Hz gaming monitor with FreeSync and a trusted build quality we have come to expect from the brand. Overclocking to 75Hz from 60 was a breeze, and we didn’t experience any issues when setting it to its maximum.

Of course, like most affordable models, there are limitations such as tilt only stands and the lack of sophisticated OSD settings. However, we cannot take this against the Acer KG241Q because it is mostly for out of the box users who are looking to buy a cheap upgrade or replacement without the fuss.
