Shantanu Salvi says
Hi, I’m currently planning to buy a 32/28 inches 4K HDR HDMI 2.0 supported monitor for my PS4 Pro (and also as a second monitor for my PC). Which monitor would you suggest I should go for… Budget 30K – 40K range.
Regards
Paolo Reva says
Hi, Shantanu! May we know what currency you are using and which region or country you are from? Cheers
Martin says
Hello looking 4k monitor for PS4 PRO. Which one do you prefer me to buy im playing mostly shooter games . ASUS VP28UQG OR
BenQ EL2870U . Thanks
Paolo Reva says
Hi, Martin! The Asus VP28UQG presents better value since its considerably cheaper. What makes the BenQ EL2870U pricier is its HDR feature which isn’t very effective, although its a nice add-on that you can play around or experiment with.
Joe says
Hi there im looking 4k gaming monitor for my ps4 pro . Mostly im playing fps games ( online actually) and my priotiries are 1) minimum input lag ( most important one) 2 ) not so expensive 3) Good looking colors . i want to feel the 4k gaming 🙂 . I would really appreciate it if you can help me on this .
Paolo Reva says
Hi, Joe! The LG 27UK650 is our favorite recommendation for 4K monitors due to its excellent color and image quality. Cheers!
DoSMaLo says
What’s the best monitor for competitive gaming?.Price is no objection.
Paolo Reva says
Hi, DosMaLo! We recommend getting the Asus PG27UQ if you want the fastest 4K gaming monitor on the market right now. Happy gaming!
Jared Crews says
I’m looking for a good monitor for a ps4 pro and hopefully it will still be good for the ps5 on it’s release. I love a good picture and would like a reaction time of at least 5ms or under. The lower the better but I still want really good graphics. I will be setting 6 feet or less away so I’m thinking a 27 or 28 inch I really want to go bigger than a 24 but be 32 inch or less. I don’t suppose the refresh rate needs to be more than 60hz does it? If so I’m willing to get more. I know I’m asking a lot but I need help my price range is up to $1300 could you give me a few suggestions that I can look through. All your help is appreciated so much, you have helped me a lot already!
Paolo Reva says
Hi, Jared! The best option right now is the Philips 436M6VBPAB when HDR gaming performance is concerned. You do have to sit further way since its a 43-inch monitor, but nothing comes close at this price range. It’s either you get the $1800 4K 144Hz models, or stick with an emulated HDR monitor like the LG 32UD99.
yaothestoic says
Want to buy monitor to use for PC and PS 4 pro. I don’t play FPS or competitively at all. Visuals come way before responsiveness. So basically, games and netflix are the main focus.
Considering this, i suppose a HDR 4k monitor, IPS panel, preferably ultra-wide curved, with G-Sync if possible, is my best bet. Price range around 1000 buckaroonies, 100 dollars more is no problem if the gain in quality is significant enough. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Paolo Reva says
Hello, Yaothestoic! 4K and ultrawide are two different categories, but we’re presuming you want a large, 4K screen. The best option right now that fits the bill is the Philips 436M6VBPAB which is a 43-inch UHD monitor that has a 1000cd/m2 backlight with a profoundly vibrant screen. It’s the only true HDR monitor that sits close to a grand in cost. Let us know how you like it!
Osiris says
Whats up!!!
Thinking of getting a monitor for my ps4pro. I play mostly sports and some FPS games. Nothing competitive, all offline. Wanted something in the 30″ range. Looking for best picture quality smooth play.
Would like to keep price under $1000 but if there is something significantly better for a few 100 more i might go for it. Give me like 3 options please.
Thank you much!!!
Paolo Reva says
Hi, Osiris! The best gaming monitor for the PS4 Pro right now is the Philips 436M6VBPAB which is capable of true HDR. The only monitor that comes close and fits in your budget is the Dell UP2718Q, but its slower and looks better for work and movies than games.
Josh P says
Hey, I’m looking for the best monitor money can buy for First Person Shooters on PS4 Pro please. I’d like to take gaming more seriously so moving away from a multi-purpose TV to a Monitor that is purely built for multiplayer shooters on PS4 Pro. Help much appreciated
Paolo Reva says
Hey, Josh! The Asus MG28UQ is still one of the best and the fastest 4K gaming monitors around. Let us know how you like it!
Patrick Bamber says
Hi there, I’m also looking to buy a new monitor for my PS4 pro, but without breaking the bank if possible! I can see the asus VP28UQG is almost identical but a lot cheaper…am I missing something? What will I be missing compared to the MG28UQ??
Paolo Reva says
Hi, Patrick! The Asus MG28UQ is faster and designed with better functionality and build quality. If budget permits, we recommend getting that instead of the VP27UQG.
Josh P says
Hey, great choice – thanks!
With the 4k do I set it to YU420 or RGB with this monitor on PS4 Pro?
Paolo Reva says
Hi, Josh! You’re good with RGB on this monitor.
Mikey says
Hey! I’m interested in something similar to the Dell UP2718Q, however, it is a little outside my budget. My use is exclusively for PS4 pro and Netflix watching. My focus is visual fidelity. So, picture quality, contrast, 4K, hdr. I’ve done a bit of reading about true-HDR requirements so I understand that most monitors do not meet those but I want the next closest experience to the UP2718Q. I’d prefer 32in but 27in is also acceptable. I’m not going to be doing competitive gaming, so 10-20ms input lag is fine and since I’m using it exclusively for PS4 I don’t need a monitor over 60Hz. My budget is $1300. Thanks for the help!
Paolo Reva says
Hi, Mikey! You might want to check out the LG 32UL950. It’s the latest and greatest in image quality from the brand at this time. Let us know how it goes!
Carl says
Hi! I’m trying to purchase a 4k monitor but with 1ms and about 27″-28″. I play mostly fighters so I need that response time af 1.
Paolo Reva says
Hey, Carl! The Asus MG28UQ is still the best 4K gaming monitor if responsiveness is a concern. Let us know how you like it!
Todd says
Hello im trying to look for a 27-28 inch free-sync 4k monitor (preferably with IPS) for my ps4. Im looking for one with low input lag with a response time of at least 5ms, also HDCP compliant, and with a hdmi 2.0. My budget is $350.
Paolo Reva says
Hi, Todd! Check out the LG 27UD58-B which is one of the cheapest options you can get that fits the bill. Let us know how you like it!
Jaime Ruiz says
Is the LG 27UD58-B monitor good for the ps4 pro?
Or should I wait a little bit(save up a little more) to get the LG 27UK50?
I can afford the The 27UD58-B now. Any input is truly appreciated.
Paolo Reva says
Hey, Jaime! Save up for the best monitor you can get. The LG 27UK650‘s image quality is better and worth the wait, trust us!
Jaime says
Unfortunately the place I’m trying to buy it from doesn’t offer the LG27UK650.
They have these available:
1) Samsung 27″ CFG73 Gaming Monitor with Quantum Dot
2) ASUS ROG Strix XG27VQ 27″ Curved 1080P 144Hz Gaming Monitor
3) ASUS 28″ 4K Monitor MG28UQ
4) Acer 27″ Predator XB1 | 2560×1440 / 144hz – NVIDIA G-Sync Model: UMHX1AA001
5) ASUS 27″ Republic of Gamers Swift Gaming Monitor Model: PG279Q
This is to play on my PS4 pro. Of the 5 listed above which one do you recommend? Which is the closest to the LG27UK650? Thanks again for all the input!
Paolo Reva says
Hello, Jaime! So far, only the Asus MG28UQ is suitable for the PS4 Pro since the other options have 1440p or QHD resolutions which are not supported. You lose the extra vibrancy and pseudo HDR of the LG 27UK650, but the MG28UQ is noticeably faster and more responsive. Cheers!
Jaime says
Pailo,
Thanks for your quick responses. Last question. I forgot to add one of the monitors to my options.
They do offer the LG 27UD58-B also.
Which one do you think is the better option? The Asus MG28UQ or the LG 27UD58-B?
Thanks,
Jaime
Paolo Reva says
Hi, Jaime! The LG 27UD58-B is an IPS model, so it has better color and viewing angles than the Asus MG28UQ. However, for gaming, we still recommend the Asus as it is faster and you don’t have pixel transition issues due to its faster response time. Cheers!
Joel Munoz says
Hey Guys,
Got a PS4 Pro, about a 2 weeks ago. Was looking into a getting a 4K Monitor. I have eyes on either the LG 27UK650 or Samsung U28H750.
The only downside about the LG is that it’s estimated at responsive time of 5 MS as oppose to the Samsung being 1 MS, I mostly play shooter games. Also, I’ve read that the Samsung doesn’t produce 4K picture because it doesn’t have HDMI 2.2 (True or not?)…..as well doesn’t have HDR (Although I read Quantom Dot Tech makes up for not having HDR)
So question is should I sacrifice the 4MS in question to get LG with HDR or Samsung to get the faster responsive time but no HDR?
Help!!
Paolo Reva says
Hello, Joel! The LG 27UK650 will still be the better choice since the 5ms and 1ms response times do not matter as much as most would think. The IPS panel on the LG is still responsive enough, so you can’t go wrong with it. Cheers!
Samuel Levi Bailey says
Hello, I am extremely confused on this whole process sadly. I am completely new to 4k and now have a ps4 PRO and I have Red Dead Redemption 2, I need something that looks nice and preforms nice, but doesn’t break my bank. What would you suggest to get the most bang for my buck, I did like the AOC U3277PWQU you listed as MidRange. I don’t need to do much other than to look good and have minimal input lag.
Paolo Reva says
Hey, Samuel! Check out the LG 27UK650 which is one of our current favorite 4K monitors. It’s HDR compatible, so you could maximize your PS4’s potential.
Sam says
Hello, just recently bought a ps4 pro and am looking to get a real nice 4k gaming monitor. I do have the capital to buy a very nice one, any suggestions? Not super expensive but top of the line. Not quite tech savvy myself so..
Thanks,
Sam
Paolo Reva says
Hi, Sam! Give us a minimum and maximum of your budget so we can close in on a suitable offering! Cheers!
Brad says
Hi,
How well will the Samsung U28E590D fair for PS4 Pro and is it worth getting? Also, any recommendations on cheap HDR monitors for PS4 Pro?
Paolo Reva says
Hey, Brad! The LG 27UD68-P is a much better option. You can also go for the LG 27UK650 which includes a decent HDR filter to enhance your games.
Bobby says
I am about to purchase a ps4 pro and mainly play FPS games. I am torn between the BenQ EL2870U vs ASUS MG28UQ vs LG 27UK650. I understand all are similar and price is very close. Which monitor would you recommend?
Paolo Reva says
Hey, Bobby! The Asus MG28UQ is your best pick if you are concerned about speed and responsiveness, however, the LG 27UK650 isn’t that far behind but it has image quality. Let us know which one of the two you pick!
lukas says
monitor samsung 28″ UHD monitor UH750 bude mi to fungovat na konzolu playstation 4 pro je to kontabilné s konzolov alebo by ste mi doporučili iný monitor
David says
Hello! I am looking for a 4k display for my PS4 Pro. I initially wanted a 4k TV, but they are all much much much too big for my purposes. Monitors on the other hand come in smaller sizes. That said, I am concerned because many monitors I have researched seem to only offer 1080p through HDMI, and need you to use a DisplayPort for 4k which is something the PS4 Pro does not support.
Are you able to recommend me a model that supports 4k through HDMI, has built in speakers, and doesn’t cost over $500? Preferably something in the realm of 28 inches if that exists. Tall order I know, I can forgo the built in speakers if need be. Thank you!
Paolo Reva says
Hi, David! Our top pick would be the LG 27UK650 which sells for under $500. Let us know how you like it!
Edwin says
Hello, what would you recommend I get that is compatible with the Xbox One X and also the PS4 Pro, I am aware that they are both different consoles with different internals and specs. My budget is about $700 and would like to achieve the best experience out of each with 1 monitor. I prefer Samsung and was debating between the 27″ CHG70 and the 28″ UH750?
Paolo Reva says
Hello, Edwin! The Samsung UH750 would be the better pick since the PS4 Pro does not support the CHG70’s QHD resolution. We also recommend you check out the LG 27UK650 which is HDR-compatible. Let us know which one you picked!
Deric says
Which monitor best on both PS4 Pro and Pc gaming? Want support 4k gaming for ps4 pro at the same time high frame rate for pc gaming like can play fps shooting game such as Overwatch more than 144Hz. Any suggestion?
Paolo Reva says
Hi, Deric! You’re looking to spend a lot of money if you want 4K at high refresh rates. So far, only the Asus PG27UQ and the Acer X27 can do that, but Acer has two upcoming monitors with lower prices; the Acer XB273K and the Acer XV273K. But if you are looking for a 4K monitor that can step down its resolution to 1080p at 144Hz, then there aren’t any available now.
Deric says
How about the monitor with 4k gaming for PS4 Pro, HDMI 2.0, HDR, and have its own speaker. If the monitor is 4k with 60Hz, when playing shooting game like Overwatch can it reach 100+ fps because I want to buy a monitor that for PS4 Pro and PC gaming at the same time.
Paolo Reva says
Hi, Deric. Framerates or FPS is determined by your GPU, not by a monitor. If a monitor’s refresh rate is only 60Hz, you will only see 60FPS or frames even if your PC is capable of 100+ FPS.
Romel says
Is the philips 288p6 brilliance 28′ 4k monitor compatible with ps4pro? I don’t want to waste money if it is not compatible or cannot run a 4k reso. Thanks
Paolo Reva says
Hi, Romel! Make sure you connect the PS4 Pro to the HDMI 2.0 slot on the Philips 288p6
Kevin says
The price tag of the DELL UP2718Q is a bit too steep for me, I saw that the DELL U2718Q is more affordable but in regards to the LG 27UK650, which would be better? I am looking for minimum input lag and max response time of 5ms, it needs to have an ips panel. Budget is max 650 euros. Thanks!
Paolo Reva says
Hi, Kevin! The LG 27UK650 is definitely better than the Dell U2718Q. Let us know how you like it!
adam says
hey, was wondering if there is any monitor which is 4k and supports HDR (8-bit or 10-bit doesnt matter) which is bigger than the average 27 inch size. it doesnt need to have the freesync or gsync feature but would prefer gsync out of the 2. would help if you could list me a few to choose from thnks 😀
adam says
forgot to mention that i would prefer an IPS panel but could go for a VA panel if there isnt any
Paolo Reva says
Hi, Adam! The LG 32UD99 should fit your needs, but it’s a FreeSync monitor. There are currently no available G-Sync variants as of this time.
adam says
can you list me a few more ? perhaps something bigger
Paolo Reva says
Hello again, Adam! Unfortunately, there are no bigger 4K monitors with HDR that are available at this time. You can check out the BenQ EW3270U, ViewSonic XG3220, and the Asus PA32UC, which is too expensive for gaming alone.
adam says
compare the LG 32UD99 to the LG 27UK850 which is better overall in terms of gaming ?what are the major difference between the 2 ?
Paolo Reva says
Hello, Adam! The LG 32UD99 has the upper hand in HDR gaming because it has an edge-lit array which helps to reproduce the dynamic lighting effects. The LG 27UK850 is slightly faster, but it’s an unnoticeable difference.
Joel says
Hi! Don’t know a lot about monitors, so this might be really obvious for most people, but what do you mean when you say that the Samsung U28E590D doesn’t stream well?
Paolo Reva says
Hi, Joel! The Samsung U28E590D isn’t HDCP compliant, so streaming services like Netflix will not work.
Sarah says
hi! i’m looking for a 4k monitor that is at least 27 inchs and accommodates the ps4 pro and a 4k laptop (through hdmi)
I was wondering if there was anything good for something under the price of 290 USD?
thanks!
Paolo Reva says
Hey, Sarah! Check out the LG 27UD59-B! Cheers!
Mehmet says
Hi which monitor is the best for ps4 pro response time and resolution
(I want lowest input lag monitor actualy)
Paolo Reva says
Hello, Mehmet! Check out the Asus MG28UQ! Let us know how you like it!
Billy says
Hello guys,
I am looking for a monitor for my PS4 PRO and ain’t fussed about the
Price, but I have a few requirements such as
-HDMI 2.0
– Supports HDR
– 4K
– Low Input Lag
– Response time 0-5ms
Paolo Reva says
What’s your budget, Billy?
Angel Lozano says
I’m looking for a monitor for my PS4 Pro that has 4K capability, 1ms response time, 24in screen, and runs at 60hz for under $500. What whould be the best for me?
Paolo Reva says
Hi, Angel! Check out the Asus MG24UQ! Cheers!
Emory says
What about tne Benq Pd3200U is it better than the LG 32UD99 for ps4 pro? Sorry to keep asking but im trying to get the most for my money I dont really have a budget cap but I want color accuracy and quality for full immersive experience.
Paolo Reva says
Hi, Emory! The BenQ PD3200U is an excellent monitor for its intended purpose, but we still think you will enjoy the LG 32UD99 more since it offers HDR compatibility.
Frank says
is the ROG SWIFT PG27UQ good for the ps4 pro? i wanna get the best hdr and 4k monitor
Paolo Reva says
Hey, Frank! We haven’t reviewed it yet, but yes, the monitor’s HDR feature and responsiveness should make it excellent even for console gaming.
Anthony says
Are there any HDR monitors yet, that don’t compromise on input lag?
I will buy a PS4 Pro and play competitively but i hear HDR is worth getting.
Or is it not?
I have a maximum budget of 600$
Paolo Reva says
Hi, Anthony! a perfect HDR monitor is impossible to get from the $600 price point. The best and most affordable alternative we’ve tested so far is the LG 27UK650 which is responsive enough for competitive play. Cheers!
Roy says
What’s the input lag like on the 27UK850? Is the 650 similar?
Paolo Reva says
Hi Roy! Yes, the monitors are almost completely identical in every way.
Anton Mananis says
What monitor has the fastest response time and best fps without any screen lag and best graphics with ps4 pro for games like battlefield, cod, fortnite, and etc.
Paolo Reva says
Hi, Anton! What’s your budget?
Emory says
I have a budget of $1,000 and I am looking for a 4k hdr monitor for ps4 pro. So far I am between the benq EW3270u and the lg 32ud99 which would be best? Or is there one better for the price
Paolo Reva says
Hi, Emory! The LG 32UD99 would be better since it has an IPS panel with and an edge-lit array.
Roy says
Hi Pablo,
What’s the input lag like on the 32UD99?
Paolo Reva says
It’s a bit higher at 20ms, but it isn’t enough to be a cause for concern for most people.
Togrul says
Hey i have a monitor not 4k can i connect ps4 pro to a monitor
Hp 27 inches
Paolo Reva says
Hello, Togrul! Yes you can, but make sure that its a 1080p FHD monitor since the PS4 Pro is not compatible with 1440p screens.
Edin says
Hey bro! What do you think about the LG 27UK600? Would it be a good mid range ips monitor?
Paolo Reva says
Hi, Edin! The LG 27UK650 is our current recommendation for reasonably-priced 4K IPS monitors for all types of uses. Let us know how you like it!
Marc says
What do you think of the new Acer Predator X27 Monitor…
Would he be a good High End Solution For the PS4 Pro?
Paolo Reva says
Hey, Marc! We haven’t reviewed the Acer Predator X27 yet, but we know it would be excellent for playing games at 4K HDR with the PS4 Pro. However, its too expensive and overkill since PS4s are locked to 60FPS.
Robert says
I bought the Samsung U28E590D and the 4k isn’t compatible with the ps4 pro
Paolo Reva says
Hi, Robert! What seems to be the problem? If its about the resolution not going all the way to 4K, try using the second HDMI slot. Good luck!
Nyder says
I have this monitor and it does 4k at 60hz no problem
Kaden says
Any new monitors that would trump this list for isp monitors?
Paolo Reva says
Hey, Kaden! So far, we would recommend the LG 27UK650 as a great midrange option for 4K gaming. We are waiting for a few other monitors designed for console gaming from brands like Philips and Asus and will update as necessary when we get access.
Mark Gonzales says
Would you suggest holding off on purchasing any 4K hdr displays to game on my PS4 pro with since hdr is still not nearly as good on monitors as they are on tv’s? I am looking to buy a 4K monitor for both my PS4 pro and pc and on the side still keep my 1080 TN panel
Paolo Reva says
Hey Mark, There are excellent stop-gap models available, but if you want a true HDR experience, we suggest you hold off the upgrade for now. The monitors listed here are great and 4K gaming without HDR is still pretty much enjoyable, so you could go ahead and enjoy it for a few years until newer and better HDR variants become available.
Marcos says
What is the Fastest response time gaming monitor for the PS4 Pro?
Paolo Reva says
Hi, Marcos! What resolution are you looking to play at?
Alex says
How is the ASUS MG28UQ 4K/UHD 28-Inch FreeSync Gaming Monitor for ps4 pro
Paolo Reva says
Hey, Alex! We recommended the Asus MG28UQ to a few users who asked about 4K monitors for that console, and all them liked it so far. It isn’t as vibrant as IPS or HDR displays, but it certainly gets the job done!
Josh says
I recently purchased an LG curved monitor, while 4k and HDR ready it is not compatible with PS4 Pro. Are all the above mentioned monitors compliant? Any help would be great, want to make sure i get the right monitor.
Paolo Reva says
Which monitor was it, Josh?
Razak says
Hey, I’m currently surveying for a 4K monitor to buy for my PS4 Pro (and as a second monitor), and I saw comments saying not to buy TN, buy IPS instead. Is TN really that bad compared to IPS?
I have a monitor currently in my shortlist, BenQ EL2870U, any comments on this particular monitor?
Paolo Reva says
Hello, Razak! It’s a wise decision to go with IPS for its extra vibrancy and improved viewing angles, but from our experience, high-quality TN displays aren’t bad at all. I personally use a TN monitor for gaming and feel no need to buy an IPS variant to get improvements in color or angles. The BenQ EL2870 is an exciting monitor because it offers HDR compatibility despite only having a TN panel when its bigger brother, the EW3270U includes a VA panel. We have it lined up for a review; we are just waiting for a test unit. Stay tuned!
Asprine says
And what about the Benq sw271?
Thanks!
Paolo Reva says
Hello, Asprine! The BenQ SW271 would be an excellent alternative to these options we posted, although we thought it to be too expensive since the price approaches HDR monitor levels. As for your question regarding FreeSync, we did not mention it because it does not work with the PS4 Pro. The AMD GPUs inside the console along with the HDMI output does not support the technology, so there is no benefit from Adaptive Sync for console gaming.
Asprine says
Did you take freesync in account?
Otis missing in am the reviews.
Regards
Asprine says
Did you take freesync into account?
Don’t see it mentioned anywhere.
