Earlier today, Digital View announced a new controller solution for UHD 120Hz LCDs which integrates all components into one module instead of three. This new solution is meant to reduce the time required for manufacturing processes, component costs, and dimensional aspects for 4K UHD products such as monitors, digital displays, and signages. This new module codenamed SVX-4096-120 has support for both 60Hz and 120Hz operation, along with image flip and motion smoothing. The company also claims that this new product is compatible with 4K OLED panels, so we may see this new offering as a way to reduce the exorbitant cost of these types of products, bringing the benefits of OLED closer to the masses much faster than the experts can predict.
Costs are reduced for most products since a single integrated model reduces component complexity such as connections and cables necessary to make the product function. Manufacturers who opt to take advantage of this new tech may soon present UHD models with smaller or thinner cabinets, with streamlined I/O layouts. This new gadget comes equipped with Dual Link DVI, HDMI 1.4/2.0, Displayport 1.2 plus other board mounted connectors which will pave the way for suitable arrangements and substantially smaller cabinets or enclosures. So soon, we consumers may begin to see TVs or Monitors without large and protruding rear-ends, the part that usually betrays the ultra-thin descriptions the different brands often employ. But of course, the most important effect of this new advancement is its effect on pricing. Currently, high-speed 4K monitors cost thousands of dollars, and we are excited to see if the SVX-4096-120 can substantially reduce that amount to make products affordable for the masses. Um, none of those connectors can push 4K 120Hz, let alone 4K 120Hz HDR.

Hi, Eli. Thank you for taking the time to comment. The input specs mentioned in this article are only a preliminary list. Digital View also stated that their new controller is universally compatible with a wide array of industry standard connections, meaning, they may provide a module with DisplayPort 1.3 or higher for companies who would order it for their products.
